The Canadian Transport minister announced that Canada’s ban on cruise ships will end in November 2021 instead of February 2022, which allows Alaska cruise lines to plan for the 2022 season. In addition to Alaska, this also opens up cruising to Hawai’i and other Pacific ports out of Vancouver, so I’ve just booked a 2022 cruise to Hawai’i.

Holland America’s Koningsdam departs Vancouver on a 16-Day Circle Hawaii cruise on October 8, 2022, and I’ll be aboard! Hopefully over the next 14 months the COVID-19 travel restrictions that have kept me home for the last year will lessen.

I’m running away from home to celebrate my upcoming 70th birthday while aboard the ship crossing the Pacific Ocean to Hawai’i. I travelled this exact same route to celebrate my 65th birthday with friends while aboard the Eurodam a few years ago! I had a wonderful time back then, and I’m looking forward to enjoying this upcoming cruise. The bonus is that my friends have decided to book this same cruise as well.
